Steve Rapp started riding on the street when he was 18-years-old. For years, he watched his close friend road race in Northern California and Rapp decided he wanted in. He converted his street bike into a race bike and began to race. In 2007, he had the biggest moment of his career when he won the highly-esteemed Daytona 200.

History

2007
Rapp started the season with a win in the prestigious Daytona 200. He continued to ride well and earned second overall in the AMA Formula Xtreme point standings. He also finished fourth overall in the AMA Supersport class with two podium finishes on the year.

2006
Rapp had eight top-10 finishes in AMA Superbike. He had only two races outside the top-10 in the AMA 1000 Superstock series.

2005
Rapp was on podium for the California Speedway and Mid-Ohio races in AMA 1000 Superstock. Rapp finished sixth-place at three races in the AMA 600 Supersport class.

2004
Rapp raced for two top-five finishes at Barber Motorsports Park and Virginia International Raceway in AMA 600 Supersport. He also had a best finish of sixth-place in the AMA 1000 Superstock series.

2003
Rapp raced in three different series during this season. In the AMA 600 Supersport, Rapp earned wins at Road American and Brainerd International Raceway.

2002
While Rapp only raced part of the season, he was able to finish in the top-10 at Daytona International Speedway and Mid-Ohio.

2001
Rapp raced another year on the AMA Superbike series with his top finish of fifth-place at Pikes Peak International Raceway.

2000
Rapp focused solely on the AMA Superbike series and remained consistent. He finished in the top-10 in all but one race.

1999
Rapp finished with two top-five finishes in the AMA Superbike.

1998
Rapp earned his first professional career win for the 750 Superstock at Mid-Ohio and a second at Road Atlanta. Rapp had only one race outside the top-five.

1997
Rapp finished with top-season finishes both at Sears Point Raceway earning second-place in the 750 Superstock and seventh-place in the 600 Supersport.
