May put on a dominating performance in the vet classes at the Thor AMA Spring Classic at Millcreek MX. The ironman that he is, May took on three classes at Millcreek, each of which had a three-moto format. May put his KX™450F out front in every moto to sweep all nine, capturing the 35+, 40+ Expert, and 45+ championships. On the infield of Daytona International Speedway, the Monster Energy Amateur Supercross took place on the same track that the pros rode the Saturday night prior. Covington battled for the lead early in the 250 A/ Pro Sport class. He was able to pressure the leader into a mistake and take over the lead to win his first championships of the season. In the Vet classes, Treadwell took home three podium finishes and the championship in Vet 30+.
“It’s cool to be back racing in Daytona,” said Treadwell. “It took me a while to get going since I hadn’t raced since Mini O’s and didn’t feel like myself. I got it together for the main events and got the win in the 30+, but would have liked to win the other two classes as well. I raced the Daytona supercross for many years and always looked forward to this track, the dirt hasn’t changed and the track keeps you on your toes.” |
