Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green Starts Off Mini Racing at Mammoth with Two Championships
Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green Starts Off Mini Racing at Mammoth with Two Championships
Irvine, Calif. (June 26, 2013) – At nearly 8,000 feet above sea level, Monster Energy Kawasaki Team Green began the first of two days of mini racing at the Monster Energy Mammoth Motocross in Mammoth Lakes, Calif., on Tuesday. With increased entries from last year, racers had to endure division races, semi races, and last chance qualifiers, in hopes of qualifying for the final races. Team Green’s Garrett Marchbanks and Sean Cantrell stood out on day one by taking their division wins and final wins to hoist championships in the 85cc 7-11 and 85cc 12-13 classes, respectively.
Dialed In
Following a full day of practice on Monday, Team Green Trackside Support was working over time to make sure any Kawasaki mini rider with a KX™65, KX™85, or KX™100 had their bike tuned to perfection. Due to the high altitude, the carbureted two-stroke motors need to be jetted correctly to compensate for the lack of oxygen in the mountain air.
Fresh Start
Although Marchbanks and Cantrell came away with championships, Team Green’s youngest stars, Stilez Robertson and Carson Mumford, were both up front battling in their final motos until crashes knocked them out of podium contention. Day two of mini racing will be a fresh start for all racers as the same classes will compete for another chance at the coveted, hand carved “Big Bear” trophies and championships.
Sean Cantrell – 85cc 12-13
Garrett Marchbanks – 85cc 7-11

Division Wins
Sean Cantrell – Supermini Division 1
Stilez Robertson – 85cc 7-11 Division 1
Garrett Marchabanks – 85cc 7-11 Division 2
