Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto Returns to the Top of the Podium at RedBud
Irvine, Calif., (July 8, 2013) – Round 7 of the Lucas Oil Pro Motocross Championship was a weekend of celebration as Monster Energy Kawasaki’s Ryan Villopoto swept the 450 class on Saturday to cap off the Fourth of July weekend at the 40th year of RedBud MX in Buchanan, Mich. Villopoto extended his points lead to 42 over the field by pushing the limits and battling to a 1-1 performance in front of an outstanding crowd of patriotic fans. Weimer fought through the field to finish ninth overall. The Monster Energy/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki squad conquered the rough and rutted track with defending champion Blake Baggett staying in the title hunt finishing ninth overall, while Adam Cianciarulo finished 12th, Darryn Durham 14th, and Justin Hill 18th in the 250 class. Sitting out the day was Tyla Rattray who after setting a top-10 qualifying time, was unable to line up for the motos due to a crash in practice, and Martin Davalos who will return for Washougal.
