MONSTER ENERGY® KAWASAKI RIDER JASON ANDERSON STALKING THE PODIUM ONCE AGAIN IN NASHVILLE

Foothill Ranch, Calif. (April 21, 2024) - Monster Energy® Kawasaki rider Jason Anderson battled at the forefront, narrowly missing the podium for the second weekend in a row, finishing fourth in the Monster Energy AMA Supercross 450SX Main Event in Nashville, Tennessee. Teammate Adam Cianciarulo led several laps, nearly winning his heat race and ultimately finished 14th in the 450SX Main Event. Following a collision between the two Monster Energy®/Pro Circuit/Kawasaki teammates on the first lap, Levi Kitchen crossed the finish line of the East/West showdown in 14th place, remaining just two points shy in the 250SX Western Regional Championship. Meanwhile, Cameron McAdoo, after two crashes during the event, ultimately withdrew from the Main Event.

Nissan Stadium, located in Nashville, Tennessee, is best recognized as the Tennessee Titans' home turf in the NFL. Nonetheless, its versatility extends beyond football, accommodating a diverse range of events like concerts, soccer matches, and motorsports events. In recent times, it has become a notable venue for rounds of the Monster Energy AMA Supercross Championship, attracting crowds eager to witness exhilarating races with top-tier riders. With its well-designed layout and excellent facilities, Nissan Stadium proves to be an optimal setting for hosting Supercross events.

Following an unexpected downpour the night prior and the cancellation of Free Practice, Monster Energy Kawasaki riders began their day on a muddy track, qualifying seventh and 12th overall. Throughout the day, the track conditions underwent rapid changes, demanding adaptability from the riders. During Heat 1, Cianciarulo aboard the No. 9 KX450SR burst from the starting gate in third place, quickly advancing to second before ultimately taking the lead after a fierce battle for the lead. As the race drew to a close, he secured a second-place finish. In Heat 2, Anderson started in the middle of the pack in eighth place and fought his way to a sixth-place finish amidst strong competition. In the 450SX Main Event, Anderson grabbed a sixth place start, while Cianciarulo began in 10th. Anderson consistently battled within the Top 5 throughout the race, finishing fourth, while Cianciarulo made an early charge to as high as seventh position but ultimately finishing 14th.

In the 250SX East/West Showdown, McAdoo and Kitchen began the day qualifying second in 250SX East and third in 250SX West. Kitchen faced challenges in the 250SX West Heat after being pushed wide in the first turn and then being caught up in a first lap pile up, forcing a race restart.  After restarting in 10th he would quickly work his way up to finish sixth. McAdoo encountered adversity dealing with an injury from another rider crashing into him earlier in qualifying but finished his heat in ninth. During the inaugural East/West Showdown of the season, Kitchen and McAdoo started mid-pack. However, while battling toward the front they collided mid-air while jumping into a turn, resulting in both riders going down. Despite a slow recovery, rider No. 47 pushed hard to secure a 14th place finish, salvaging crucial championship points and maintaining the gap to just two points behind the leader. Unfortunately, McAdoo had to retire from the main event due to the complications arising from his earlier qualifying injury.
