BABBITT’S ONLINE/MONSTER ENERGY®/KAWASAKI TE AM GREEN RIDER GRANT BAYLOR LANDS ON THE PODIUM AT THE SNOWSHOE GNCC

Snowshoe, WV - Round nine of the 2024 Grand National Cross Country Series was held at the famous Snowshoe Mountain Resort in the heart of West Virginia, where XC-1 rider Grant Baylor battled through dust and rocks to claim second overall on the day. Teammate Lyndon Snodgrass would finish the race ninth in class after battling dusty conditions all day.

After coming through scoring on lap one in the fifth-place position, KX450X-mounted Grant Baylor would put in a charge that saw him passing his fellow competitors every lap until he moved into the lead on lap four. Unfortunately , Baylor  would lose his rear brakes after colliding with a rock, slowing his pace. Baylor was passed for the lead on the last lap, narrowly missing the win by a mere 7 seconds.

“I got off to an awesome start and took off. Once I found the front group, I was able to find my groove but ended up getting too comfortable and hitting the ground more times than I would like, but I was still able to get into the lead. With about a lap to go, I lost my rear brakes, so it made it difficult to keep the pace up. Regardless, I’m happy to be up on the podium again,” said Baylor on his second-place finish.

The GNCC Series will take a summer break and resume racing on September 1st at the BuckWheat 100 in Newburg, West Virginia, where Grant Baylor will look to be back on the podium.
