VALIN RETAINS EMX250 CHAMPIONSHIP LEAD

Bud Racing Kawasaki’s Mathis Valin maintained his thirteen-point lead in the FIM European EMX250 Championship after securing his sixth podium of the season at the Swedish round in Uddevalla.

The French teenager got off to a strong start in the second moto, quickly taking third place. By lap two, he moved into second and found himself in a three-rider breakaway at the front. Despite repeatedly closing in on the leader, the hard-pack track became increasingly single-lined, making overtaking attempts more challenging and frustrating.

As the race progressed, Valin and his competitors got caught up with lappers, adding to the chaos. With three laps to go, his rival briefly slipped past him, but Valin regained his position. Despite several attempts to take the lead, he fell just short. At the final corner of the penultimate lap, he left an opening that allowed his rival to pass him again, resulting in a third-place finish.

Though the finish cost him two championship points, Valin’s overall podium position and a solid twenty-point haul from the race offset the points lost on Saturday against his closest rival. As a result, he left Sweden with his thirteen-point championship lead intact.
