MONSTER ENERGY® KAWASAKI RIDERS BROUGHT THE HEAT AT ROUND 10 IN BIRMINGHAM

Foothill Ranch, Calif. (March 23, 2025) - Monster Energy® Pro Circuit Kawasaki’s Seth Hammaker rebounded from an early crash in the first of the three-Main-Event format to dominate the final two, securing an impressive fourth overall at the third Triple Crown of the Monster Energy® Supercross season in Birmingham, Alabama. Monster Energy® Kawasaki’s Jason Anderson showcased podium-worthy speed though fell victim to the aggressive Triple Crown format of racing, ultimately claiming seventh overall. Meanwhile, Monster Energy® Kawasaki Team Green riders Enzo Temmerman took an impressive win in the SMX Next class followed by Vincent Wey and Landen Gordon finishing eighth and 16th, respectively.

Hammaker, aboard the No. 56 Kawasaki, started the day strong by securing the fastest overall qualifying time. In Race 1, he launched out of the gate in fifth and quickly advanced to second, but a costly mistake in a slick corner sent him to the ground, forcing him to re-mount in 22nd place. Regaining his composure, Hammaker steadily worked his way back to finish ninth. In Race 2, the No. 56 showcased the power of his KX250, grabbing the holeshot before briefly slipping to second. A strategic outside move in the technical sand section put him back in the lead, where he remained to take the win. In the final 250SX Class race of the night, Hammaker once again nailed the holeshot and executed the race flawlessly, securing another victory. His 9-1-1 performance placed him just off the overall podium in fourth, but showed he is a championship contender and closed the gap to the championship leader.

In the 450SX Class, Anderson kicked off his day on the dry and technical track by qualifying fourth aboard his Monster Energy® Kawasaki KX450SR. In Race 1, the No. 21 got a strong start, launching into second place. As the race unfolded, he fought for a podium position, but an aggressive pass from another rider sent him to the ground, forcing him to remount in sixth. Anderson quickly regained his rhythm, logging several Top 3 lap times and ultimately finishing fifth. In Race 2, he started in fourth and engaged in another podium battle, but another aggressive pass just before the whoops dropped him to eighth, where he ultimately finished. In the night’s final race, Anderson started inside the Top 10, but a mistake sent him to the back, forcing him to charge through the pack to a 12th-place finish. He ended the night seventh overall with a 5-8-12 score.

In the SMX Next Class, Monster Energy® Kawasaki Team Green riders Gordon, Temmerman, and Wey commenced their day by qualifying first, fifth, and 23rd, respectively. As the Main Event got underway, all three riders found themselves mid-pack off the start. The reigning back-to-back SMX Next winner, Gordon, encountered trouble on the opening lap, going off track before the sand section and getting pinned under his bike. Despite the setback, the No. 18 remounted at the rear of the field and fought his way up to finish 16th. Making his SMX Next debut, Vincent Wey put in a determined ride, executing smart passes to secure eighth place. Meanwhile, Temmerman rode a steady, consistent race while clicking off some of the fastest lap times of the race. On the final lap, Temmerman, running in second, seized an opportunity when the leader made a mistake, to take the victory at Round 3 of SMX Next. This win extends Monster Energy® Kawasaki Team Green’s 2025 streak to three consecutive SMX Next victories.

“The day started off pretty well. We made some setup changes by the end of practice, and I felt a lot more comfortable, which helped me qualify fourth. Going into the night show, I was in a good spot in the first race, started in second, and was holding strong, but about halfway through, Chase [Sexton] put some pressure on me and ended up putting me on the ground. I got back up in sixth and fought my way to finish fifth, which was solid considering the setback. In the second race, I had a decent start in fourth and quickly moved into third. I was in a good battle, but Malcolm [Stewart] got by me, and then right before the whoops, I went down which put me all the way back to eighth. I got up and tried to make up ground, but I had to settle for eighth in that one. In the final race, my start wasn’t great—I was around the top 10—but then I went down on the first lap and ended up dead last. From there, I just put my head down and charged forward as best as I could, eventually making it up to 12th. Overall, it wasn’t the night we wanted, but we’ll take what we learned and keep building.”

“The day started strong with P1 in qualifying, which was awesome. I felt great on the track and really connected with it. In the first race, I got a great start and was right behind R.J. [Hampshire], but I made a mistake on my own. The track was slick, and I should’ve been more mindful of that. I tucked the front end, created a bit of a traffic jam, and went down. After getting caught up with another bike, I had to come from last place and work my way back to P9. In the second race, my start wasn’t ideal, but I managed to squeeze through the first corner, got out front early, and just rode my race to take the win. The third race was almost identical—I grabbed the holeshot, rode my own pace, and took another win. I finished the night 9-1-1 for fourth overall. I was hoping that would be enough for a podium, but we’ll keep fighting and learning from our mistakes. I’ll be back strong in Foxborough."

“The day started off pretty slow for me. The first two free practice sessions felt okay, but I struggled in both qualifying sessions and didn’t quite find my flow. I ended up qualifying fifth overall, which wasn’t ideal, and honestly, I wasn’t feeling too confident heading into the Main. Once the gate dropped, I just focused on putting in clean, consistent laps. I started mid-pack but made some quick moves early to get into sixth. From there, I kept pushing, and when the leader went down, I moved up to fifth. I kept charging, made another pass for fourth, and just kept fighting all the way to the end. The race really came to me, and I was able to take the win. I’m super happy with how the night turned around and how I was able to regroup after a tough start to the day. It definitely wasn’t easy, but I just kept my head down and made it happen.”
