Moto Podiums for both KRT riders in Spain
Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP's Romain Febvre and Jeremy Seewer capped off the 2024 FIM World MXGP Championship with strong finishes at the final round in Cozar, Spain. Seewer finished fourth in the overall standings, with Febvre close behind in fifth.
In his 200th career GP start, Febvre had a challenging start to the first race after getting caught behind another rider at turn one. Battling from 12th, he worked his way up to 7th by the end of the first lap and took over 5th by lap seven with a slick inside pass. He pushed further, taking 4th three laps from the finish, right behind teammate Jeremy Seewer. A great start in race two saw Febvre come out third after the first turn, moving up to second by lap seven as he pressured the leader. However, while going for the win, he slid out with three laps to go but remounted quickly without losing his position. Though he missed a potential ninth podium due to a tie-break, Febvre finished 5th in the series despite sitting out five GPs with a mid-season thumb injury.
KRT teammate Jeremy Seewer continued his string of excellent starts, running in the top three for the first eight laps of race one. He briefly dropped to third but maintained position, knowing the rider who passed him would face a post-race penalty. In race two, Seewer settled into a lonely ride, finishing fifth after losing contact with the leaders but staying well ahead of the rest. His consistent performance earned him fifth overall for the day and fourth in the final championship standings.
