Febvre Closes in on Championship Lead with Another Podium in Switzerland

Kawasaki Racing Team MXGP’s Romain Febvre continued his charge toward the FIM Motocross World Championship title, earning his fourth straight podium at Frauenfeld, Switzerland. The Frenchman’s gritty performance narrowed the points gap to just 27 as he retains a solid second place in the standings.

Despite getting boxed in at the start of both motos, Febvre powered through the pack to finish sixth in race one and second in race two. His 37-point haul secured second overall for the weekend.

In the first moto, he emerged ninth after turn one and quickly climbed to sixth by lap two. A brief tumble on a slick corner dropped him back, but Febvre responded with determination, making two standout passes to reclaim sixth. He was gaining over a second per lap in the final stages, nearly catching fourth before time ran out.

Race two saw another strong charge from eighth, moving into fifth by lap four and engaging in a fierce battle for third. After securing the position on lap 14, Febvre pushed forward again to take second, where he finished behind the race-long leader.

Romain Febvre:
“I was fast and felt good all weekend, but it was a track where a strong start was crucial. I was one of the few who could make passes, but it was risky — just one mistake and it could go bad. I nearly hit Guillod’s bike after his crash in race two, and the rocks were brutal, as you can see by my nose! I’m happy with another podium, but I’m hungry for one more step!”
